Asian Rural Foundation
Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation
Asian Rural Foundation provides emergency disaster relief, food, shelter, medical support, and long-term rehabilitation across Bangladesh. We support vulnerable families affected by floods, cyclones, fires, and other natural disasters with timely and transparent humanitarian aid.
Program Details
Bangladesh is a disaster-prone country. Every year, floods, cyclones, tidal surges, landslides, and other natural disasters affect hundreds of thousands of people. Especially during the monsoon season, about 26,000 square kilometers (18%) of the country’s area is flooded, causing extreme suffering and homelessness, particularly in the northern and other vulnerable regions. In addition, disasters such as cyclones, fires, and cold waves severely disrupt the lives of helpless people.
Asian Rural Foundation works tirelessly across the country to stand beside disaster-affected communities. Since its inception, the Foundation has been implementing emergency relief operations during disasters, along with long-term rehabilitation programs to support recovery and resilience.
